Your trusted Doula

Certified-Birth-Doula-Circle-White-300dpi.png

Welcome! My name is Mariah Wright.  I began my journey to become a doula in April of 2020 during my pregnancy with my 3rd child. I am here today to make sure I can offer support and inform women that they have a choice to have the birthing experience that they choose.I had my first child at the age of 17 by cesarean. This was not the plan as I wanted to have a natural waterbirth however since my son did not come on his due date, the doctors felt that induction was best. Little did I know, my body and my baby just wasn’t ready yet. After roughly three days in labor my doctor decided to perform a cesarean.

Five years later, I was pregnant with my daughter and was told since I had a cesarean before, I would have to schedule another however if I go into labor prior to, my doctor would let me labor. The day of my scheduled cesarean, I went into labor however the nurses convinced me to still go along with the cesarean since it was already scheduled. With baby number three I was determined to have a natural birth but again my doctors told me there was no way I could and scheduled me for yet another cesarean.

None of my cesareans were medically necessary and because I had them, I felt like I was robbed of an experience that was my (w)right. I believe if I had a doula by my side that my choices would have been different and that I would have been able to experience birth my way. My journey and my dedication to being a birth doula is personal and I want to support you, baby and your family. If you would like to learn more, please book a free consultation with me and I will be pleased to go on this birthing journey with you.
